Lebanon Helps to Give Others a FRESH Start

Did you know that 37% of households in Lebanon County can’t afford the basic necessities of life? Lebanon County Christian Ministries has a small army of volunteers that steps up to the challenges on multiple fronts: food, clothing, and shelter, which includes The FRESH Start Emergency Shelter & Resource Center. At any given time, at least half of the guests at FRESH Start are children, many under the age of 5. Pictured is Betty Albert, who volunteered at LCCM for 30 years!

We were able to donate $135.00 and some food items, thanks to the generosity of the associates at Juniper Village and residents in independent living. The entire $135.00 donation was raised quarter by quarter on tables in the staff break room and in The Club. Considering the restrictions on everything in the past months, this total is amazing, and it speaks to the generosity of everyone at Juniper Village!

Did you know that our donation will provide over 50 meals at the free noon meal site, which has been providing meals every day of the week somewhere in Lebanon since the early 1980s? They serve anywhere from 150 to 250 individuals a day! Or our donation could provide a one week stay for a family at FRESH Start! We are happy to be able to assist LCCM in their worthwhile endeavors, as they are needed now more than ever.
