In honor of Women’s History Month, we are proud to celebrate Juniper’s many amazing women in leadership positions who have helped make Juniper a respected leader and innovator in the seniors housing industry. This week we shine the spotlight on Diane Byrne, Vice President of Program, Development, Training & Operational Oversight for Juniper Communities.
Throughout her over 40 years of experience in the senior living industry, Diane has been the driving force in developing national corporate-wide comprehensive programs for various stakeholders. She lectures at conferences, including the National Alzheimer’s Educational Conference and is the creator of multiple, awarding-winning memory care, specialty, and wellness leisure programs.
Diane has been instrumental in shaping Juniper into the nationally respected organization that it is today, one deeply rooted in its commitment to nurturing the spirit of life, throughout all seasons. She is responsible for the conceptualization, design, development and implementation of Juniper’s nine Signature Programs, including its R.E.S.P.E.C.T. program that fosters associate welfare and spirit through recognition and empowerment centered celebrations and trainings, and Connections with Alive in All Seasons program designed to encourage active bodies, engaged minds and fulfilled spirits.
Juniper Communities has long been committed to education, training, and lifelong learning since its inception in 1988. Diane configured the curriculum for Juniper’s web-based training platform, an innovative online education resource with comprehensive life-long learning curriculums to deepen the understanding of the aging process and promote wellbeing.
“Learning is a journey, an adventure, a lifelong personal and professional endeavor,” maintains Byrne. “For leaders to be successful within their own career, they must see education as empowerment, and commit to the concept of lifelong learning. As leaders we must also pledge to prepare, nurture, and inspire greatness in our women leaders of tomorrow”
Diane lives in Mechanicsburg, PA with her husband, Doug, two sweet Ragdoll cats, and one very large Saint Bernard puppy. They have a daughter and two grandkids. She and her family treasure their time together at their beach house on the Outer Banks in North Carolina. Diane is an avid gardener and enjoys reading.
Each week during Women’s History Month, we will feature trailblazing women in leadership who have been instrumental in Juniper’s past and continues to be a driving force today. Follow us to learn about their strengths, passions, and commitment to being a leader.
