Here at Lakewood Reserve we have tried to “simplify” this holiday season by emphasizing the real meaning of the holidays.
The holidays can be a difficult time of year for most seniors. Gathering with loved ones and sharing in the holiday spirit are things we look forward to, but for some, the holiday season can be challenging. We often face battles with the reminder of lost traditions, stress, and sadness. And, for some, physical limitations can make socializing and church attendance tough. Here at Lakewood Reserve we have tried to “simplify” this holiday season by emphasizing the real meaning of the holidays – being with your neighbors and friends, your religious faith, and helping those less fortunate. With activities geared to help others and celebrate in the moment, our residents have had ball. From dressing up in theme, singing with carolers, to donating toys to a local shelter, we have emphasized people & connections with all of those you come into contact with—not the material items. Your presence will be remembered long after your presents have been long forgotten.
