Our Juniper Village at Louisville mountain house residents enjoyed a morning full of puzzles and games. You can tell by their smiles how much fun they are having! We find entertaining ways to keeps our resident’s minds active every day. Did you know that working on jigsaw puzzles reinforces connections between brain cells, improves mental speed and is an especially effective way to improve short-term memory. Our short-term memory helps us remember shapes and colors and visualize the bigger picture to figure out which pieces will fit together. Other games like Jenga, pictured here, promote fine motor skills, manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination while also improving problem-solving skills and strategic thinking as players add and remove pieces from the tower. So while, it’s all fun and games, we’re improving our skills at the same time!
