Group drumming provides an opportunity to connect with others, alleviating feelings of isolation. This ancient approach to healing uses rhythm to create feelings of well-being. It is known to induce deep relaxation, lower blood pressure, and reduce stress. This week at Juniper Village at Mount Joy we took to the halls, drumsticks in hand and made a joyful noise. Focusing on various rhythmic patterns defined by each participant we beat the blues and filled the air with the sound of self-expression. Give it a try at home! Don’t have a drum or stick? Not to worry, all you need is a box and a wooden spoon. Make some noise for well-being!
