On a cool spring day in May, residents at Juniper Village at Brookline Rehabilitation and Skilled Care enjoyed a day of primping and pampering. Residents were individually escorted to the beauty salon where Lana, a member of the Juniper Wellness team who is also a licensed beautician, met them to provide hairdos. Residents then selected ‘glamour’ items such as hats, clip on earrings, and shawls to use for a photo. These photos were then emailed to family members as a way of saying, ‘thinking of you.’ Residents and families are finding fun and creative ways of staying in touch throughout the global pandemic, including having window visits, using FaceTime and Zoom for visits, and many phone calls.
