Remember to Breathe

Letters From Lynne

I don’t know about you but my anxiety grows by the day. The US has now surpassed China in total number of cases and they are a much larger and more congested population. That suggests that our containment efforts have not been as successful as we had hoped.

This is our reality and we will need to cope. That means not only taking care of others but also protecting them by taking care of ourselves.

It is easy to forget the basics. I know that I have. Sleep is critical. Seven to nine hours or close to that is essential! Hydration is also critical. If you weigh 150 pounds, you need to drink eight or more glasses of water a day. If you drink enough, it keeps your cortisone in line and the studies show that there is a direct link between cortisone levels and stress. Get some exercise. Take a twenty to thirty minute walk every day.

We want to offer one more potential antidote. We have launched a new YouTube page where anyone can spend three to five minutes each day with Juniper’s own Tsultrim Datso, a PhD in educational psychology who has been using mindfulness as a means to teach personal health and wellbeing for more than 30 years. Tsultrim leads a short mind and body relaxation course that works for anyone of any age! Check it out at https://bit.ly/JuniperREfresh

We care about you and know your loved ones—wherever they may be—want you to stay healthy. Please, remember to take care of yourself and continue the Corona Basics: wash your hands, try not to touch your face and maintain six to ten feet of social distance from others.
