Lakewood Reserve Senior Living

What does Spring mean to you?

Just because we’re keeping our distance, doesn’t mean we can’t continue our popular weekly Short Story and Poetry Group! Only now we are putting our creativity to extra use by devising innovative ways to stay connected while remaining six feet apart. And as you might guess, hallway activities are keeping residents engaged as we continue to shelter in place. Our Lakewood Reserve residents have put on their creative writing hats when asked what spring means to them. Check out this poem from our lovely resident showcasing on her door just what it means to her!

Tulips and daffodils pop up from the ground;

Kites in the wind all blowing around;

Robins in nest high up in the trees;

Seeds in the garden bring out buzzing bees!

Boys with their mowers clip grass as it gets tall;

Then neighbors come over to throw a baseball.

Buds on trees come bursting forth.

Watching stars at night? Look up to the North.

Showers rain on our gardens. Just look at those peas!

And corn will soon be up to our knees!

We get our jump ropes and maybe our jacks,

But baseball takes over. Jacks back in our sacks!

The season of Spring is such a blessing.

The weather, however, keeps boys and girls guessing.
