Juniper Communities is known by its staff and residents for having a deep Halloween spirit, and this year Juniper Village at Brookline Rehabilitation and Skilled Care did not disappoint.

With an open theme this year, Juniper SNF was transformed into a festive holiday wonderland of candy corn paper lanterns, oversized cotton spider webs, and pumpkin carvings throughout the building. The doors opened to the community for the annual Safe Trick or Treat Night in which many children came in costume to receive candy from residents and play Halloween theme games including tossing glow necklaces on witch hats. Attendees included staff children, residents’ great-grandchildren, and community members.

Associates dressed in themes that ranged from famous television characters such as The Golden Girls, to Doc Brown from Back to the Future, to furry friends called The Care Bears. Residents enjoyed a costume parade in the afternoon and prizes were given for the following costume categories: Best Halloween Spirit, Best Home-made costume, Best Literature Character, Best Character from a movie, Best Disney Character, and Best Group Theme.

This fun filled spirited day is a wonderful way to kick off a season of celebrations. In the upcoming weeks, Juniper Village at Brookline Rehabilitation and Skilled Care will enjoy a Harvest Fest brunch and begin preparations for December holidays.
