Making sushi is an art, and experience is everything.

Hokkaido, the northernmost of Japan’s main islands, is known for its volcanoes, natural hot springs and ski areas. Hokkaido, the favorite local Japanese restaurant in nearby Elizabethtown is known for its bento box lunches and savory sushi rolls. This week Juniper Village at Mount Joy stepped out for the noon time meal and into a cultural experience of ambiance and flavor. California, avocado and shrimp tempura rolls were shared among the table.  A few dared to add ginger and wasabi and some tried their hand at chopsticks.  Miso soup and teriyaki chicken were favorites among the crowd. We’re looking forward to our return trip!
