On Thursday, July 23 The Basement Band took the stage, or in this case the front porch, to perform as part of the Juniper Village at Meadville Summer Concert Series. Luckily the weather cooperated and this warm weather, open air concert was a breath of fresh air! Much to our delight, throughout the week residents and staff were treated to musical entertainment al fresco. Marla Moretti and Greg Vanderveen make up The Basement Band. They have been involved in music most of their lives. Greg was the lead guitarist and co-founder of the classic rock group Pegasus (1975-2001) and has played the guitar for more than 40 years. In addition to his primary instrument, the six-string guitar, he also plays bass guitar, keyboard, horns and strings played through the Yamaha keyboard and a Roland drum machine for drum tracks. Marla adds percussion with claves, tambourine or egg shakers. Their music ranges from rock and pop classics, to acoustic, country and praise. As you can see the crowd really enjoy the variety! Thanks again to Marla and Greg!
