Social Distancing Independent Activities

“Solitude sharpens awareness of small pleasures otherwise lost.”

– Kevin Patterson

Independent activities may foster imagination and creative play, allow you to have some quiet time, teach patience and resilience, as well as increase self-reliance. Even before social distancing, it is always important for us all to engage in some sort of independent activity. Pictured here we have a Spearly resident engaging in arts and crafts on their unit patio. She is staying safe by properly social distancing from fellow neighbors as well as by wearing a mask. Residents are offered independent activities daily for them to engage in at their leisure. Different types of independent activities that are offered daily consist of varied types of activities such as arts and crafts,  word search, crossword puzzles, journaling, beading, movies, craft kits, various cognitive activities, and more.
