This delightful bakery in the heart of Mount Joy, was founded by Jennifer Anteau in October 2012 after a lifetime of baking inspired by her grandmother. After being diagnosed with Celiac disease in 2009, Jennifer was routinely disappointed by the taste, texture, and quality of the gluten free products that were available on the market at the time. She became determined to successfully develop gluten-free versions of her grandmother’s recipes that tasted as good as hers. This week residents of Juniper Village at Mount Joy had the opportunity to meet Jennifer and hear a bit about her bakery. We learned that Made with Love Not Gluten has its own mill and grinds its own fresh flour with ingredients of rice and tapioca daily. Residents then tried their hands at decorating delicious gluten free cupcakes. Bright piped icing, colorful candies, toasted coconut and marshmallows were just a few of the toppings Jennifer brought along with her. We enjoyed learning about gluten free baking, experiencing cake decorating for ourselves and most of all-sampling the fresh baked goods! Later this month we’ll be taking an excursion to tour the bakery to see Jennifer in action.
