“2021 will be another crucial year for seniors housing, and we expect big opportunities and more change amid the recovery from the disruption caused in 2020,” said Lynne S. Katzmann, CEO and Founder of Juniper Communities. “For providers like Juniper, our nimbleness enabled us to take early action against COVID-19 in our communities, testing residents and staff, implementing protocols, and infusing the use of technology to maintain safety and well-being. We were able to maintain our base while planning for future demand once recovery from COVID begins and confidence is restored.”
When Juniper Communities commits to converting existing seniors housing communities to the Juniper Village name, a thorough assessment is done not just on financials, but also how Juniper’s award winning, signature programs will be able to benefit the residents and staff. “At Juniper, we care,” said Lynne Katzmann. “We care about our people first and foremost, which is ultimately realized on the bottom line.”
Signature programs created and unique to Juniper are its acclaimed Connections program, which keeps residents engaged and encourages an active body, an engaged mind, and a fulfilled spirit through specially designed virtual and in-person activities; H’art and Soul of Dining, imparting spirited service, companionship, and nourishment through sharing the joy of good food; and its award-winning Wellspring Memory Care program providing state of the art memory care through
therapeutic programs, environments, and interactions. All are designed to foster the Juniper mission of nurturing the spirit of life in every individual served.
In an industry hit hard by COVID-19, Juniper Communities has been hailed as an innovative leader in the effort to limit the spread of virus by implementing early testing and detection in its residents and staff, creating staffing cohorts, and thorough use of PPE and sanitization practices.
