First, we made wedding bouquets while popular wedding music played in the background. Then, we set up a display of vintage wedding dresses in the lobby, and invited residents and staff to share their wedding photos and memorabilia. Later, we had a tea party featuring a simulated wedding cake, complete with three different layers of cake, each with its own unique flavor. In this photo, Tanya and Helen are re-enacting the famous reception ritual of feeding the cake to each other, but this time without all of the mess! The day ended with resident Nancy Hemler playing a program of wedding music in the lobby. Everyone enjoyed reminiscing about their wedding experiences throughout the day.
