Juniper Village at Mount Joy

Movin’ & Groovin’

POUND Fitness comes to Juniper Village at Mount Joy.

POUND Fitness, designed for all levels, offers a little something for everyone. Based on Pilates-inspired movements it combines strength training and cardio while using a drumming approach. ¼ inch drumsticks are used to create a rockin’ workout that increases range of motion, strengthens the heart and tones muscles. As POUND fitness makes its way into fitness enters all across the nation, Juniper Village at Mount Joy decided to get in on the action in their own way. Residents gathered around large exercise balls set atop stands to prevent rolling. Favorite Rock & Roll, Big Band and Doo Wop tunes were cranked as drumsticks went wild.  A few rhythms were suggested for all to drum together. Ultimately it was the creative improv that brought on the fun as we were movin’ and groovin’ to the music.
