Juniper Village at Lebanon resident Peggy Griffe was born in Nassau, the Bahamas, and she moved to Schaefferstown in 1956, after marrying her husband Gene, who was in the US Air Force. During our recent manicure session, Peggy told us an interesting story. She was once a manicurist for the stars! She worked at The Adorable Beauty Salon in Nassau from the time she was 15 until she was 22. During this time she did manicures and pedicures for the rich and famous, including Lana Turner, Irving Berlin, Bette Davis, Perry Como, and pretty much much any famous movie stars from the 50’s who happened to visit Nassau. Peggy has some interesting stories to tell about her adventures with these celebrities, which she will be happy to share with anyone who would like to know more.
