Applewood Place Assisted Living

Lessons from Leonardo

When Leonardo da Vinci said “Iron rusts from disuse; water loses its purity from stagnation…even so does inaction sap the vigor of the mind,” He couldn’t have been more correct.

So here at Applewood Place we make it our mission to remain active, no matter our age or stage of aging.  From Basketball, to Scrabble to Creative Expressions, we are on the go.

On our recent trip to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, we took in the current discoveries about the elusive Mona Lisa.  Actually done in four different stages, the Mona Lisa evolved through time into the masterpiece we enjoy today.  In addition to the Mona Lisa, we were enthralled by da Vinci’s other inventions, especially his rotating scythe and other weapons of war.

In our quest to be our best selves at all stages of life, we will continue to engage in activities that encourage us to “think like a Genius.”
