We have a table of miscellaneous items that are always on sale for a quarter. The money raised goes to our current charity, in this case Toys for Tots. Many of these items just mysteriously show up, and we never know where they come from. It was amazing that we raised $60 in this way in just one month! Today John Gingrich, the area coordinator for Toys for Tots, presented us with a certificate of appreciation as Brenda Smith handed him the donation. As it turns out, Brenda herself had been a volunteer for Toys for Tots for many years, working with John! She can remember wrapping many gifts at the last minute for children in Lebanon city and county. John told us that over 6,057 children in Lebanon County received gifts from Toys for Tots this year! He says that every dollar helps! We also donated a box full of toys just before Christmas, so thanks to everyone who supported this worthy cause!
