Juniper Village at Brookline

ICAA NuStep Beacon Best in Wellness Award Winner

Juniper Village at Brookline is one of a select group of only 25 senior living communities in the country chosen for the ICAA NuStep Beacon Best in Wellness Award. The Beacon Award recognizes senior living communities fostering an environment that embraces wellness as a way of life for all who live and work in the community. Using the seven dimensions of wellness as a foundation, these communities partner with residents and staff to create relevant, meaningful opportunities that empower participants to improve their quality of life. The award was created as a joint effort between International Council on Active Aging (ICAA) and NuStep, LLC, a major manufacturer of recumbent cross-trainers used in healthcare, senior living and fitness.

“It is an honor to be recognized as a leader in the senior living industry by the International Council on Active Aging and NuStep,” said Anne Campbell, Regional Director of Operations for Juniper Village at Brookline. “For over 30 years, our mission at Juniper has been to nurture the spirit of life for all stakeholders. I am so proud of the team at Juniper Village at Brookline that is rooted in that mission while leaning into opportunities to embrace change and champion innovation. It is our hope that programs this campus has piloted, such as Broadway Senior, Connect4Life, and REfresh can serve as models to positively impact our ever-evolving industry.”

Juniper’s commitment to active aging and fostering a wellness-centered environment made it an ideal match for the criteria of the Beacon Award, which prompted Katie Kensinger, Senior Director of Community Relations at Juniper Village at Brookline, to champion the application. “At Juniper Village at Brookline, we have the technology, processes, people, places, and programs to support and sustain active bodies, engaged minds, and fulfilled spirits,” states Kensinger. “However, we also have a culture of innovation that is eager to share what we have learned, collaborate for the common good, and continually improve to adapt to the changing needs of our residents and the industry.”
