“Go day by day and hope for the best, you never know what tomorrow is going to bring”. These wise words are spoken by Juniper Village at Mount Joy resident centenarian, Doris Kiehl. Doris celebrated her 103rd birthday on June 4th. Family gathered outside the porch window to shower her with socially distanced hugs and kisses and a rousing rendition of “Happy Birthday”. When asked what advice Doris would give to younger generations she said “Honor your mother and father and be a good student”. Doris’s outlook on life is that it has its ups and its downs. When asked to share her most amazing experience and greatest accomplishment, she had the same response for each. “When I got married to a lovely young man…I had a wonderful husband. We never had any trouble and we had two beautiful children.”
Happy Birthday Doris! It is our honor to celebrate with you!
