The event featured a costume ball, delicious food, 1920’s jazz style musical entertainment by the Roger Barbour Band along with a display of three Model A Fords by the Pittsburgh Area Model A Club. Over 50 community members, council members and elected officials gathered to celebrate Forest Hills’ rich history and its impact on the world.
Forest Hills was incorporated on July 29, 1919 and is best known for being the birthplace of radio, with the first radio broadcast from KDKA, and the Westinghouse Atom Smasher.
