Centenarian Celebration: Happy 100th Birthday Les Anderson

Lesley “Les” Anderson, a resident at Applewood Place, is turning 100 years old.

He is a proud veteran, who served in the Navy for 24 years, ending his career as a Senior Chief Operations Specialist. During WWII, he served in the Pacific Theater, and fought in the final battle at Okinawa. After retirement from the Navy, he spent several years volunteering for the Red Cross in Denver, helping veterans however they needed it. He was a railroad man, who worked his way up from pin puller on the night switch engine to engine foreman over the 24 years that he spent there. He was a loving husband and devoted father of two sons and two daughter-in-laws, grandfather to two grandsons, and great-grandfather to three grandchildren. Les is available for media interviews.
