These services include physical, occupational, and speech therapy. At the Rehabilitation and Skilled Care community, the Genesis therapy department is overseen by a new Director of Rehab, Cari MacElwee. Cari, originally from the State College area, has spent twenty-nine years practicing her therapy skills in Utah and Arizona in various hospitals and rehab facilities. When Cari decided to move back to her home town she was happy to become part of the Juniper team. “I really enjoy the (Juniper) campus and the staff was very welcoming.” While being in a professional environment she enjoys the fun and energetic staff that helps keep the residents safe and on the road to recovery.
The Genesis therapy team plays an integral role in the lives of residents at Juniper and help residents every step of the way in the rehab process. Genesis offers a continuity of care, as evidenced by therapists working with residents throughout the different levels of care on the campus. Genesis also offers residents the option to continue their therapy treatments at home with the same therapists they have developed a connection with at Juniper.
