A pandemic puts a halt to many of life’s events, but one thing that it doesn’t stop are holiday celebrations! Here at Juniper Village in Forest Hills the ladies were certainly doted on this Mother’s Day.
In the morning, lovely Scripture passages about women were passed out to remind the ladies of their honor as women from the beginning of time and also to give them some reflection ideas, since many of our residents associate Sundays with religious activities.
Then, a delicious lunch was prepared by the Dietary Staff. The residents enjoyed stuffed chicken breast, creamy mashed potatoes, slightly sweet glazed carrots, jumbo shrimp cocktail, and a delectable dessert of their choice.
In the afternoon, the Connections Department took a cart through the hallways and stopped at each room to serve the residents a springtime cocktail: Fuzzy Navels! Accompanying the cocktail was a special gift for the resident ladies: a gift certificate for an in-house salon service (to be cashed in at a later time) as well as a keepsake poem written just for Mother’s Day.
In addition, a multitude of family members came to have window visits with their loved ones, as well as FaceTime visits that were also done with the assistance of Juniper associates. The ladies were very appreciative of all the love they received and felt very celebrated on their special day!
