“A Cut Above”: 85 year old resident donates hair to charity

At Juniper Village at Brookline, we know that each resident has something that makes him or her memorable and special. One of Jim Delansky’s distinguishing characteristics is his adventurous spirit, which is reflected by his free-flowing hairstyle. It came as such a surprise when Jim booked an appointment at the Juniper Salon and told stylist, Kayla, that he wanted to cut his signature locks. However, it was for a good cause, as Jim decided to donate his hair to an organization called “Children with Hair Loss”. Jim says he put a lot of thought into his decision, and 2 days before his 85th birthday he decided to make the cut of 12 inches of hair! When asked how he felt about the opportunity to donate his hair, Jim said he felt “lucky”. WE are so lucky to have residents like Jim who are willing to give back to the community. Thank you for your donation, Jim. You look fabulous!
